The new album "NEXT BORDER" released in less than one year from the 4th full album "BORDERLINE" (PWT81 / Jan, 2021) has a rearrangement of past representative songs released by GECKO's music label Tokage records. There are new attempts, such as the production of #9."Re: UFO" (released in September 2021), which was filmed in one take with one camera during their recording.
From the five songs of “Re:” series (#1.2.5.7.9), which can be seen more and more sophisticated in terms of techniques and arrangements, you can feel the evolution from a dense experience that has succeeded in their solo live in the halls such as Motion Blue YOKOHAMA and Cotton Club.
The lead track #4."clockwork" is an addictive tune that shakes in a tricky 13-beat and a mellow loop of a rhodes piano, and there are unreleased songs like #6."The Legend Of Ashitaka - Path Of The Wind", which is a medley cover of a popular Ghibli songs. Also pay attention to the rearranged four tracks (#3.8.10.11) which originally were included in Playwright's compilation album "Library of Sounds -Solo Works at Home-" (released in May 2020, streaming only).
A melancholic minimalistic piano, an emotional guitar that is an ensemble catalyst, and a sharp groove of rhythms that promotes a flowing melody. The collision of their sharp personality seems to be violent without a sudden, but it is sounded in an exquisite balance with a consistent beauty, and you can experience the dynamics that intersect the contradictory elements of underground and popularity in this project.

4thフルアルバム「Borderline」(PWT81/2021年1月リリース)から1年経たずで放たれるニューアルバム「Next Border」には、Gecko主宰音楽レーベルTokage recordsよりリリースされた過去代表曲のリアレンジを収録。そこでは、レコーディング中に撮影を入れ、1発録り1カメ1回しのライブ感溢れる映像と録音をシングル·パッケージした⑨「Re:UFO」(2021年9月リリース)の制作など、新しい試みもおこなわれた。
テクニックやアレンジ面においても、ますます洗練された様子が伺える5曲の“Re:”シリーズ(①②⑤⑦⑨)からは、多作な制作·リリース活動の中、Motion Blue yokohamaやCOTTON CLUBなど、ホールでの単独ライブを成功させてきた濃密な経験からの進化を感じる。リードトラックは13拍子のトリッキーなビートとローズ·ピアノのメロウなループに揺れる中毒的ナンバー④「clockwork」、ライブで人気のジブリメドレー⑥「アシタカせっ記～風の通り道」カバーなど未発表曲も収録された他、Playwrightレーベルアーティストのソロ·コンピレーションアルバム「Playwright Library of Sounds -solo works at home-」(配信限定/2020年5月リリース)に収録された4人のソロ楽曲をバンドでリアレンジした③⑧⑩⑪にも注目。メランコリックなミニマルピアノ、アンサンブルの起爆剤となる情緒豊かなギター、流麗な旋律を推進するリズム隊の鋭いグルーヴ。尖った個性のぶつかり合いは、突拍子もなく暴力的なようだが首尾一貫した美しさも備えた絶妙なバランス感の上で鳴らされ、アンダーグラウンドと大衆性の相反する要素が交錯したダイナミクスを体感できる作品に仕上がった。
